DESCRIPTION
NEW EVP TAPP CLUTCH UPDATES (2024):
- Roller Spider replaces the original button spider to reduce friction between spider and movable sheave for quicker power delivery, better belt grip, lower belt temps and smoother engagement.
- Center bearing: new black nitrate coating for hardness, corrosion resistance and reduced friction.
- Larger roller: increased from 2mm to 3mm for improved bearing longevity under high horsepower and harsh conditions.
- Post: more material and updated heat-treat allow higher torque without slipping on the shaft (for high‑hp builds/drag setups).
- Moveable sheave: added material reinforces clutch towers for greater load capacity.
- Clutch cover: billet aluminum with larger windows to accept additional weight without modification.
- Calibrations: stock through EVP Dynomite (DM) and Desert Storm (DS) turbo upgrades.
- Intended use: tuned to work with the EVP STM Tuner secondary, or OEM secondary with EVP internals including Shift‑Tek Helix and Spring.
- All kits include full standard weight kit plus tungsten TAPP Clutch Race Weights (set of 8).
- Durability: billet aluminum and high‑tech materials for extreme heat resistance. EVP Spec TAPP primaries handle ~200–500+ hp; OEM primary is reliable up to about 300 hp.
- Adjustable: two‑sided ramps swap quickly. External clickers change shift pattern. Roller arms accept added/removed mass; various springs available.
- Cooling & response: ventilated, multi‑angle curved sheaves reduce belt temps and improve throttle response. Ramp system yields smooth, quiet operation.
Disclaimer: EVP calibrated TAPP primaries may require minor calibration changes. For tuning support, see instructions or contact technical department.

CALIBRATION GUIDE
There are 4 main adjustable components in an EVP Spec TAPP Clutch:
-
Ramp Profile - Shipped with pre‑chosen ramps. Changing profile alters shift behavior and should be done by an experienced tuner.
-
Ramp Angle - Adjustable externally with Quick Shift bolts. Higher setting = higher RPM. Always adjust in pairs opposite each other to avoid imbalance.
-
Roller Size - Three sizes: standard, +1mm, +2mm. Larger rollers quicken low‑end shift, lower full‑shift RPM; smaller rollers slow shift and raise full‑shift RPM. Change in opposing pairs only.
-
Weight Adjustment - Via set screws in arms and washers on roller thru bolt. Add weight to lower RPM; remove weight to raise RPM. Set screws affect low speed; roller bolt weight affects high speed. Adjust evenly in pairs to avoid failure.
